Camping in the Cold Weather

If you think you are brave enough to camp in cold weather you better make sure you have all the necessary cold weather camping gear you need or else you could end up being a human popsicle!  First, make sure you have quality shelter. You will need to purchase an expedition tent that can withstand extreme weather conditions. These tents can be expensive but they are worth the money if it prevents frostbite. Next, you should really purchase a mummy style down filled sleeping bag. The tent will keep the cold air and elements out and a good sleeping bag will help you retain warmth.

When camping in cold weather make sure to have a heat source. Bring extra matches to light fires and keep them burning. It would even be a good idea to bring a manual ignition in case the matches should come in contact with water. Another option for staying warm while camping is to purchase a camping heater. These heaters are small and easy to carry around and provide extra protection against inclement and cold weather. So if extreme cold weather camping is for you go for it as long as you have the necessary cold weather camping gear to pull you through.
