Camping with Friends

Camping with friends is a great holiday tradition for many people. There are many great advantages to camping with groups.  There are more people to help bring all the camping gear, more people to watch the kids, more kids to run off and play together and more people to create entertainment in the dark evenings.

Group camping can make it easier for everyone. Each adult or family can take charge of one meal for the trip, which would really cut down on food planning for each family. Families can also pool their gear together or have kids sleep together in the same tent, allowing adults to sleep in or have privacy.  You don’t need many camp stoves for example, just one or two.

Adults can also get more playtime in if you approach camping as a group.  While some are in charge of watching kids at the beach, another group can go kayaking, for example, an activity that is difficult to arrange with young children. Once you find some friends that you enjoy spending time with, you can coordinate it so that you go together every summer. It may become a great summer tradition!

Survival Skills One Has To Follow In Camping

Survival skills can be any skill that can help a person to survive in hard situations like cyclones, storms, earth quakes, or when trapped in a mountain, desert or hostile jungles. There are three rules that must be always remembered.

1.Humans cannot survive more than three hours exposed to extreme low- temperature   .
2.Humans cannot survive more than three days without water.
3.Humans cannot survive more than three weeks without food.

The main things that one has to find out are shelter, fire, water, food, and navigational aids. The shelter could be any natural or manmade cave, or anything that could cover you from the elements. One should always know how to start a fire without matches. It might be from sunlight or flint stone. Fire can be life saver in cold weather. In colder or warmer temperatures the need for water is greater. Normally we lose some two to three liters of water through our body.

Even though not so vital, lack of food in cold conditions can be dangerous. It can stimulate low morale, loss of mental clarity, and weaken the immune system. One should be sane enough to find their way back to safety. One should be able to follow celestial navigation and navigation by observation.

Foods Best Suited For Camping Purposes

Most campers are advised to take with them high calorie diets like dried fruits and nuts. If you have any unprocessed perishable food then you must have a cooler to store them. Some campers prefer to survive on wild plants and fruits such as berries and other succulent fruits. Universally it is recommended to have some food with you in hand, so you may not suffer from hypoglycemia. Always try to keep your foods hygienically clean and dry. Prefer to have them in vacuum packs.

Processes meat and vegetables are welcome. But it might occupy more space in the backpacks. Importance has to be given to the calorie intake. It will be a better option to avoid fresh mushrooms that you find plenty in the summer. You might never know about its edibility. Try to avoid insects, reptiles such as lizards and snakes into your diet.

Water is the most essential survival drink that is to be given at most importance. There are plenty of filter equipment in the market that will be useful. If you have the choice, choose the one that works on the principle of reverse osmosis. There are also static dust and dirt removal powders that can be mixed with any turbid water and made pure.

Why use a Tent?

If you are going camping, there are many supplies that you will need and without them your trip will not be as enjoyable.  One of the most important things to take camping is a tent.
A tent will keep you safe from bugs and animals.  It will also keep you dry and possibly warm. Sleeping in a tent is a great way to experience wilderness without the wilderness trying to experience you.

There are many different types of tents and it is best to find the one that is most suitable for you.  If you are camping by yourself or with one other person a small one-two person tent is advisable.  They are small, light, and easy to carry.  Usually, they are also easier to set up. One person tents are small and only have enough room to sleep in, but they will keep you dry and safe.  These small tents also offer privacy that a larger tent that holds several people will not do.  These small tents will allow you to sleep comfortably without being cramped by other people.

Camping on a Shoestring budget

If your family is like most, you can’t afford an costly family vacation, but camping is the next best thing.  It makes a great alternative because you can do it on nearly any budget.  A great place to camp is a State park or national forest because it only costs about $12-25, much cheaper than a hotel room.  Most sites come equipped with a fire pit, picnic table, and a grill.  Also, most site at state parks have bathrooms and shower houses and possibly electricity run to your camp site.

Another reason to take your family camping is that there is are endless possibilities for activities.  You can go hiking, fishing, swimming, boating, and more.  Most campsites allow bikes and other toys to keep the little ones occupied.  The only downfall is that if you are a first time camper, you will need to invest a good bit of money, about $200-300 for the proper camping gear.  You will need items like a tent, sleeping bags, flashlights, coolers, and other items to make your trip more comfortable.

Necessary Camping Gear and Supplies

Camping is a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.  However, without the right gear, camping can be miserable.  Some important things to bring with you camping are: a tent, flashlight, body warmers, ponchos, sleeping bag, and a cooler.  These items are necessary because they will ensure that you have a happy, healthy, and safe trip.

A good tent is important because you never know what the weather may do and a tent is a great way to ensure you stay warm and dry.  You will also need some sort of light source for at night.  You may choose a lamp or a flashlight, either are great.  A full body warmer can heat up to 150 degrees and last as long as 20 hours, ensuring a warm sleeping environment.  Rain ponchos are great for unexpected downpours and help you to stay dry.  A good quality, soft sleeping bag is a great way to ensure warmth and a comfortable night’s rest.  Lastly, a cooler is very crucial.  You will need to bring food and this is a great way to transport it and ensure it stays fresh.

Girls Weekend Camping Essentials

Recently, I planned an all-girls camping weekend with five of my best friends from college. We wanted some time away from civilization, away from the blackberries, the cable TV, the internet and all distractions. We found the perfect spot in Mississippi. Horn Island which is part of the Gulf Shores National Seashore is just remote enough to have great peace and quiet but still populated enough to be accommodate six city gals and their need for social interaction.

Packing for an all-girls weekend is fairly standard but there are some exceptions that you should take care to make. While tents and sleeping bags are a must, don’t forget a solid, durable and weather proof pad. Not that a girl can’t rough it, but why spend the night uncomfortable when there are plenty of padding options that feel just as good as a king sized bed. Just like the princes and the pea, your picky girlfriends will thank you for the extra comfort. Pack extra lanterns so that every lady has her own light and make sure you have whistles or some other kind of alarm for safety sake. Lastly, don’t forget the camera! Documenting your adventure into the wilderness is a necessity and will give you years of happy memories!

Camping Gear for Comfort

Camping is among the most adept recreational outside activities in the world. Encamping, which became popular in the early 20th century, admit an assortment of activities. Survivalist campers challenge the wild with little more than the apparels they’ve on their backs. Recreational campers, then again, bring out with gear that can allow for power, inflame, and consolation. Camping can be delighted by itself, however a lot of activities are frequently done in alignment with additional outside activities such as hiking, swimming, angling, rafting, or packing.

Generally, the players, known as campers, set about this activity to break loose from meddling, urbanized life-styles and delight the great thing about nature. At such, they expend a nighttime or two at a bivouac. Most encamping is arranged in national parks, publicly possessed natural destinations, and privately possessed bivouacs however more adventuresome campers can accept up the dispute of encamping in wild, unknown places. Walking, jaunting, and sleeping out of doors is amusing, however you’d require some camping equipment to delight relative consolation. Even the most steadfast survivalist who’s encamping out of doors would prefer to be cuddled in a fine blanket when slumbering than only lying down on frigid, firm ground with just a jacket on.
